Volunteer Program

Shelbourne Physiotherapy Gordon Head Recreation Center Clinic is proud to offer a volunteer program where kinesiology students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience with hands-on facilitation of Exercise Rehabilitation Programs. Under the supervision of a Kinesiologist, volunteers work directly with clients dealing with a range of problems including: chronic pain, post-MVA recovery, senior’s strength & balance, rehab & injury prevention for athletes, post-surgical and post-concussive exercise therapy, rehab for patients with history of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological disorders…

Volunteers aid in the facilitation of these exercise programs by checking postures, providing cues, spotting for safety, and making recommendations for possible progressions as per the supervising Kinesiologist. Other responsibilities include set up, clean up, and administrative duties.

If you are interested in our program, please email Lukas Gehring at ghrehab@shelbournephysio.ca with your resume, availability, and year of study.

We prefer a commitment of at least 8 weeks for consistency with our patients.
